OUR STORY

We started this year as a small factory located in Bogotá-Colombia.


Started with approximately 50 workers and a production area of 100 m². Our production was mainly focused on chests manufacture, sewing machine cabinets, and children’s toys.

We were awarded the Exporter’s Medal.

We began producing cabinets in large series for T.V. Sets, Sound Systems, and Sewing Machines. Our main customers at that time were large companies such as Singer, Phillips, General Electric, Panasonic, PFAFF, and Toshiba, to which we supplied high-quality products.productos de alta calidad.

We were awarded the distinction of order to Industrial Merit .

We were awarded the Colombian National Quality Prize.

We began to produce hand-carved furniture with fine finishes for the USA market, succesfully opening a new market with companies such as: Century, Baker, Hickory White, Ralph Lauren, Henkel Harris, among others.

We ventured into the hospitality industry, producing furniture for prestigious international brands, exporting to several countries around the world for companies such as Hilton, Marriott, Nobu, Hard Rock, Radisson, Holiday Inn, Intercontinental, and many more.

Currently, our operation is carried out in a plant of approximately 29,000 m². We have more than 400 skilled collaborators in different specialties, committed to manufacturing wooden furniture that meets the highest quality requirements and standards at an international level.

Within our production lines, we develop institutional projects for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and for recognized construction companies at the national level.

GET TO KNOW OUR PRODUCTION PROCESS

The first step is to analize the work that has to be done in order to decide which type of wood is optimal for the requirements of our client.  All our wood is certified and  comply with all legal regulations.

In this step, the wood is treated in special industrial dry kilns in order to reduce the  moisture content  level of the wood to  8% – 9%. This process guarantees the wood structural stability and also provides the immunization needed to protect the wood against termites, fungus and other insects.

In this department,  a  wood veneer is applied to all the types of laminates that we use in our process. This veneer  gives the main characteristics to the piece of furniture. We have access to any type of veneer that  our clients may need.

In this process, the wood is cutted to specific measures in order to optimize it’s consumption.

We use robotic high technology CNC machines to perform all necesary operations needed in our processes.

In this department we assemble all the different pieces needed to build the structure of the furniture.

A perfect sanding is the base of a high-quality furniture finish. Different kind of abrasives are used, depending on the required details of the piece.

We have the capability to manufacture different types of furniture, hardware and accesories in a variety of metals finishing with modified polymer paints.

All of our finishes are made of polyester resins,  known for their resistance, durability and ecofriendly properties. We develop and produce our own paints. Our lab has the highest standards of quality and every raw material is carefully selected/chosen.

The upholstery process is performed by our expert upholsterers using different foams and materials according to the confort required by the client.

We use fabrics specified by the client.

In this area our team installs all functional and decorative hardware and the furniture is cleaned and prepared for packing.

In IMA we put a lot of effort in our packaging area. We are very much aware of how important it is to ensure a safe and secure shipping that will maintain our furniture’s quality. That’s why we carefully design the best packaging that can provide protection to every piece. Our objective is  that our products arrive always in perfect shape to its final destination.
